The Bay Scene Windows Committee met with the Whitmore Architect team on December 7, 2021, for an update on their Window System Replacement Study. The team has developed three conceptual designs for our consideration, and all options look good. Each is viable from an engineering perspective, each meets the design and operational goals that homeowners have expressed through the course of the window replacement process, and each resolves the problem of our leaking and structurally deteriorating windows.
At this point, the Board feels these designs are worthy of advancing, so we plan to present them at a Town Hall type meeting for all homeowners in the Bay Scene Recreation Room. We also plan a concurrent Zoom video teleconference so those unable to attend in person can be involved. We’ve scheduled this meeting for 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Here, the Architectural Design Team will formally present their concepts. We’ll be able to see what the designs look like,
discuss potential tradeoffs, and obtain some updated cost estimates.
After the town hall meeting, our next step will be to move on to final design, obtain firm cost estimates, and select an installation contractor. A special assessment on Bay Scene homeowners will be required to fund the windows replacement, so your attendance at this meeting will help inform you when deciding whether to approve this funding.
